Interested in more scrabble competitions?

There is an individual competition in the primary school category organised by Jurong Green CC.

It wil be held on 3 Sep 2011.

Unofortunately, SHPS will not be able to send pupils for the competition.

But if you are still interested, you may look for Julina. She will be going for the competition and will help in the registration process.

Registration fees ($3) and transport will be borne by yourselves.

Hey everyone, it's not called NJSC. It's a new format. Do read on for more details. See you this coming tuesday (12th July)!


SUPER-Zonal Series Scrabble Championship 2011
Category: Primary Schools
Date: 6th August 2011, Saturday
Venue: Yuying Secondary School


General Information – Introduction

- The inaugural split-event that brings together schools from the various zones where the teams are crowned by the 4 demarcated zones and the top 2 teams from each zone (after Round 3) went on to compete in the SUPER-zone category (see Box).
- To enable schools to form teams with ease, each team comprises 3 players. A maximum of 6 teams is permitted for each of the Junior and Senior Division.


Example: Senior Division
All teams played 3 games within their zones.
Teams from the same school can play each other only once.
The top 2 teams from each zone (after Round 3) moved on to compete in the SUPER-Zonal front.
The other teams within the zones continue to play Round 4 and Round 5, culminating in the PLATE and BOWL Champions within each of the 4 zones.
The Best School Player (BSP) for each school will be based on the scores of the first 3 rounds.


- The rules of the 10th Inter-School National Scrabble Championship 2011, ISNSC apply. A copy of which can be requested upon your participation.
- Lunch (halal) is provided for all participants. Kindly indicate in the Registration Form should you require special-diet meal, such as vegetarian meals.
- Minimum of 2 players in a registered team to play, should 1 player failed to turn up.
- Where a team has a cross-over of divisional player, it shall compete in the higher level.

ISNSC Team Event: Grand Finals

3 of our teams have done us proud!

Senior Team 1 has been crowned the National Scrabble Champions 2011!

The lineup comprises Natalia, Qian Ying, Julina, George, Jiong Han, Noriman and Gabriel.

Last Scrabble session tomorrow!

Tomorrow (24th May) is our last Scrabble session for the term, before we meet again for the Grand Finals.

Bring your consent forms!

P5s, you may take your 5-item test with the first batch of P5 pupils. That means, report to ISH void deck at 1.50pm and inform the PE teacher there of your intention to take the 5-item test now.

This way, you will end by 3pm and can come for Scrabble! :)

9th Lim Boon Heng Cup Scrabble Ch'ship 2011

SHPS Scrabble Club participated in the LBH Cup for the first time this year.


This is an individual competition and pupils play 3 games in "King Of The Hill" format, where the players with similar scores compete against each other.

About 180 pupils took part in the Primary School category.

After 3 gruelling games, the results are finally out.


Out of about 180 players, 5 of our players finished in the top 10!

10th place: George Neo

6th place: Josiah John Hoo

3rd place: Clarine See

2nd place: Gabriel Lee

Champion: Julina Seet

We are very proud of all our 16 players. You have done well! :)

Now onward to the next competition in April!
