Well John you are correct too! There's no hard and fast rule but there are a lot of factors to consider though!

Yeah I agree that bingos aren't the most important thing, if not everyone will become like um bingo vampires. Like "If I don't have a bingo on this rack, I'll just pass" and end up losing.
So like what John said, at the end of the day it's all about playing the best move.
And also remember that it's not only the tiles you put down that are important, so are the ones you leave behind on your rack!
Like if you have XYZK left behind (weird combo, but it's just an example) best to play another move, or exchange.

but... if u ar lyk starting is better to build on ur vocab on 2 - 4 letter word lists ((= uhhh Grace, i would change everything but the x cos i think x is veri useful ((= hahas. y probably. ya! tagboard! hahas.

there might be a better move possible, depending on the other 3 mysterious tiles that I didn't name (and never will- LOL).
also, don't look down on our juniors ): they're not starters. they might beat us rusty old (I have an urge to type 'oil cans' out of randomness) people one day, or even today ;D
