Background
A brand new tournament, Kuala Lumpur Scrabble Marathon 2008 will be making its debut in April. The 1-day tournament offered RM 1,000 cash prize for the champion, and is expected to attract the region’s finest Scrabble experts. For the first time in Malaysian Scrabble history, we’re going to have 15 games within just one day, a whopping number considering the fact that a typical Scrabble tournament will only have 8-9 games a day. The new tournament will be setting a new record with the highest number of competitive Scrabble games in 1-day, a feat which we hope will be recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records. There is no doubt that it will be offering the ultimate challenge of speed & fitness to all Scrabble experts out there.

Format : Round robin for the first 12 rounds
King of the hill for the last 3 rounds
Allocated time : 20 minutes per game for each player
Eligibility : Open to all rated players only
Registration Fee : RM 50 for MSA member, RM 60 for non member

Champion : RM 1,000 + Trophy
Runner-up : RM 500 + Plaque
Third : RM 300 + Plaque
Fourth : RM 200 + Plaque
Fifth to Eight place : Plaque
